Canada

Canada is a country in North America. Today, Canada is a highly developed country and has the 24th highest per capita income globally and the sixteenth-highest ranking on the Human Development Index. Its advanced economy is the ninth-largest in the world, largely dependent on its abundant natural resources and well-developed international trade network.

For thousands of years, indigenous people have continuously inhabited what is now Canada. In the early 16th century, British and French expeditions explored and later settled along the Atlantic coast. As a result of various armed conflicts, France ceded almost all of its colonies in North America in 1763.
